Upcoming Events & Volunteer Opportunities

The Office of Sustainaiblity is excited to host the following volunteer opportunities. This list will change often, so please check back for new opportunities regularly!

Volunteer to plant trees!

Volunteer to participate in the Amelia Street School and Riverview Cemetery tree planting events hosted by the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Office of Sustainability, in partnership with the VCU School of Business. Event volunteers will help plant more than 100 trees combined at the Amelia Street School and the Riverview Cemetery. The trees will create an educational and recreational space for the school and the Randolph community as well as increase Richmond's tree canopy in effect helping combat the city's heat island effect.

To comply with VCU's safety protocols and guidance from the Office of the Governor of Virginia, volunteers can sign up for a three-hour morning (9 a.m. to noon) or afternoon (1 - 4 p.m.) shift on Tuesday, March 2 or Wednesday, March 3 at the Amelia Street School or on Friday, March 5 or Saturday, March 6 at the Riverview Cemetery. If you are VCU Faculty or Staff you can use your community service leave to volunteer.
